Elaine and I were commended to the Lord’s work on 1st Sept. ’84 by the Bitton Park Road Gospel Hall, Teignmouth, Devon, England. Five years later we moved from Devon to N. Yorkshire, to particularly establish the first PBS work in the north of England. We enjoyed 11 happy years with the saints in Woodfield Gospel Hall in Harrogate, with our three girls. Following our involvement in starting a new PBS work in Canada in 1999, we moved as a family to Portage la Prairie, Manitoba in August 2000 and lived there for 23 years. Mitchell Christian Assembly is now our new spiritual home, since our move to Steinbach in September 2023. Each of our daughters are married and also live in Manitoba and are in fellowship in assemblies in Austin, Mitchell and Portage la Prairie and we are richly blessed to have 11 grandchildren.
Our present focus of service falls into four areas:
1.Postal Bible Studies outreach
In N. America – publishing, printing & distributing through the mail, free of charge, monthly PBS lessons for all ages. Approx. 1,700 students (children, teenagers & adults) in Canada & USA.
In St. Lucia, W. Indies – supplying free PBS booklets (containing 24 lessons) to 38 schools across the island for use in Religious Education lessons. That reaches approx. 9,300 students aged 4-16 years old. (Morning school assemblies are also undertaken when visiting there.)
Note: More details can be learned by going to the PBS CENTRE on the GTC website. Due to having the PBS Centre listed also, we had to supply a different email address to GTC for ourselves. However, it is linked directly to the one we prefer to be used – pbs110@mts.net
2.‘Treasure Seekers’ Children’s Series
Week long series of children’s meetings; held in halls, tents or community centers in support of existing assembly children’s work, in connection with a pioneer work or as a PBS outreach.
3.Assembly Testimony
Seeking in particular to help and encourage small or isolated assemblies through ministry or Gospel outreach. (In areas as far apart as the Prairies, the Atlantic east coast and the West Indies.)
4.Radio Outreach
Following a request by a Manitoban radio company in Oct. 2020 for a one-minute ‘Thought for the Day’ style program, samples were approved and COMPASS POINT (Daily Direction from God’s Word) began broadcasting on Sun. Dec. 13th on Arctic Radio’s three stations, on a daily basis. It is now aired on 9 Manitoban radio stations plus a mission station on the island of Antigua in the West Indies. It can also be heard daily online at compasspoint.live and is available as a podcast.
For more details about other radio outreach work go to the PBS CENTRE on the GTC website.
